5.2. MENUS

5.2.1. Menu: FILE

 To create a new Sound Document from scratch. From the relevant Dialog Box you can choose if the new Sound Document will be mono or stereo and its Sampling Frequency

 Open

 To open an AIFF, SDII or .WAV sound files. You can listen the by pushing the relevant button. D-SoundPRO displays only AIFF, SDII or .WAV files into the selected directory.

Close

 To close the active Sound Document. D-SoundPRO will ask for saving changes.

Close all

 To close all the Sound Documents you have previously opened. D-SoundPRO will ask for saving changes.

Save

Lock Loop Length

To Lock/Unlock the loop length: if the loop length is locked, at each movement of the end loop point from the loop floating window corresponds an equal movement of the start loop point (not the contrary).

Fast Wave Display

To make the display of the Sound Document wave faster but not using a lower resolution. Useful using long sound files.

Moving Marker

 -

To Enable/Disable the moving marker when the sound document plays by using the speaker button on the Tools Floating Window

 

 5.2.4. Menu: Network

Normalize/Normalize all

To normalize (maximize) the selection (if any) or the all sound wave of the current Sound Document or of all the Sound Documents you have opened. This function is very useful to amplify the signal level to the maximum available dynamic range.

 Reverse

To set the loop mode to Off, Forward, Alternate or Reverse. The Macintosh is capable to reproduce only forward loops, but all types are supported over MIDI.

 Loop Cmds / Convert ALT->FWD

Because many samplers (and the Mac, too) doesn't support the ALTERNATE Loop mode, this function allows to convert the current Sound Document to play the ALT loop using a FWD loop mode (dimmed if Loop Mode isn't ALTERNATE).

Resample 15 kHz Tones

Because many samplers don't support a sampling frequency so low, this function allows auto-resample of 15 kHz Tones porting sounds from Roland diskettes. Set the new sampling frequency from the Preferences Dialog.

Auto Normalize

 -

To automatically apply the normalization to all the sound waves ported from a Roland 3 1/2 diskette.

 Insert Sampler CDROM

 -

Because most samplers use a CDROM format not Macintosh compatible, when you insert it in the CDROM Driver the Mac tries to mount and then to format it. Use this function to insert a sampler CDROM without allow the MacOS to mount it.

 Eject Sampler CDROM

 -

 Because using the above function the MacOS doesn't mount the CDROM, you cannot eject it without this function.
